About Lynny's
Nested in the Govalle neighborhood in East Austin, Lynny’s is a diner inspired trailer serving a full coffee bar, and quick, classic breakfast and lunch. Featuring southern biscuits with all the fixins - homemade compote, fried eggs, and sausage biscuit sandwiches, as well as dark roast coffee, and signature items like espresso soda, lucky charms pancakes, grilled cheese, and housemade chipotles adobados. At heart, Lynny’s is a community space, whether you are just passing through or stopping to stay a while.
Lynny’s is family owned and operated by Lynn Metcalf and Erin Gentry. These two longtime Austinites are all about bringing people together around delicious coffee and home-cooked food.
Metcalf is a 3rd generation restaurateur obsessed with the legacy of the American diner. With 25 years in the Austin service industry, she has proudly built her skills in institutions like Magnolia Cafe, Bouldin Creek Cafe, Stubb’s BBQ, Kome Sushi Kitchen, Bufalina, Epoch Coffee, Metcalf BBQ, and beyond. Her family coffee ranch in Nayarit, Mexico is where we source our house percolator coffee.
Gentry is the reason Lynny’s is more than a dream, with decades of experience in project management, event planning, stacking the train, design/build, and community organizing. Born in Mexico City, and with deep family ties all over Mexico, she is also the reason Lynny’s sells her abuelas chipotles - perfect with a biscuit and a fried egg!
We are proud to be located in the big yard at MASS Gallery, a longstanding artist-run contemporary art collective and queer community space in East Austin.
